If you are yet to jump on the Kale band wagon, give these easy Kale Chips a try.
These bad boys are not only packed full of vitamins, fibre and super low in calories. They are easy to make and taste great, even the kids will love their super crunchy, crumble texture.
These days we don't have time to spend hours in the kitchen cooking every night. We need tasty options that are quick and easy to make. That is why I love this Kale chip recipe as it only takes a couple of minutes to prepare and cook.
I cook these when I am already using the oven, so its a super easy dinner, when you can pop everything into the oven, and get some things done while it cooks.
Kale Chip Recipe
• 3 Cups of Kale (Approx half a kale) • Oil of choice (We love olive or coconut) • Pink Himalayan rock salt
Preheat fan forced oven to 180 degrees.
Peel leaves off kale stalks and break into small pieces. Easiest way to do this is to close your hand around the top of the stalk and pull your hand down until you reach the bottom. This will pull the leaves off as you go easily in your hand.
Place kale in a bowl. Season with a little oil and rock salt. Toss in bowl until kale is lightly covered.
Lay kale leaves flat on oven tray. Avoid overlapping so they cook evenly.
Place in oven for 5-10 minutes, or until they look crispy. Keep an eye on them as they can go from not cooked, to well done very quickly.
This is a super versatile recipe. Try adding some different flavours to your chips such as Parmesan cheese or dried onion for a little something different.
You can also use this recipe on other vegetables, so have some fun with it and try some new things and use up what you have in the fridge.
We love Broccoli chips, Zucchini, Sweet Potato even Cauliflower is super nice roasted this way. You are only limited by your imagination.
